Parties allow small groups of players and their property to move around as a single entity. Each entity within the group
follows the leader that it is attached to. For the time being a party may not exceed 12 entities at the same location.
Example
If there are 12 party members, but only 8 of them are at the same location as the leader, a further 4 may be added. If one of the four who is away returns to the party only the first 12 are moved when the party travels.
Each Player may have their own 12 member party that follows them if the party they are in moves or if they themselves move, these Parties are subject to the same rules as the main party. The party leader may disband or make over the party to another player at any time and may also send a message to their party. Party Members may send a message to their parties or to the party they are a member of. Messages are delivered to all party members regardless of location.
When boarding or disembarking into a ship/vehicle/facility/station only PCs that are on the crewlist will be moved. If a player is not moved those in their party will also not be moved.
If you are already a member of a party you may not join another party. You can prevent others from joining your party or from making parties over to you by going to Position > Travel > Parties and changing the option, this option is set to No by default.
To join a party or move with a party you must be at the same location as the leader. If you are not then you will not move with them. When moving to a location entities are moved in the following order: leader, prisoners, all other PCs, NPCs, droids and creatures.
Once you are a member of a party, or if you are the leader, you may add the following to the party:
- NPCs, Droids and Creatures you are the supervisor of.
- NPCs, Droids and Creatures you are able to assign yourself the supervisor of.
- Prisoners who you arrested/are in the same faction as you and you have level 1 Arrest/Execute privilege.
You will be automatically assigned as the supervisor of NPCs, Droids and Creatures you add to your party.
- Leaders of the party may kick any member of the party
- PCs in the party may kick any of the entities they are the supervisor of
- Prisoners may not be kicked
Party leaders may make over a party to any players at their location providing:
- The other player has 'can join/have parties make over' option set to yes
- The number of entities in the players parties does not exceed 12
If there is not enough room in the party of the player receiving the party only those entities that there is enough room for will be made over, the rest will be set to have no party.
Prisoners may be handed over if:
- The player you are trying to make them over to is at the same location as you
- You arrested them
- They are in the same faction as you and you have level 1 Arrest/Execute privilege
- They are in your party
Handing over prisoners results in the player who has had the prisoner given to them having them added to their party.
The party will not follow the leader into the cockpit of an entity if it is of fighter or speeder class. If the entity you are entering does not have enough room to contain your party then the portion that did not fit will be left outside. If party members are not present at the location of the leader their ground co-ordinates or roomID will be displayed but only if the leader is in the same area.
Note
Planned: when items and weapons are available party members will be able to pass them amongst each other with ease. Prisoners will be able to be kicked from the party when you are in a Prison facility.
