1/ Introduction
Slaves can be bought at slave markets, or in private business deals. They can be used for manual labour or to provide services, depending on the gender of the slave. Several well known persons use personal slaves for pleasure. The Hutts run a thriving slave business, and usually have many slaves themselves.
2/ Types of Labour
There are two basic types of slaves: manual resources and service providers:
Manual Resource
Male slaves, very useful for construction and production.

Construction and Production times are decreased by (nbr Manual Resource) / (nbr facilities) such that:

For factories:
Equations
Time to build it (in days) = (Sum of all materials needed) / 48 x (1 - (nbr Manual Resource) / (nbr facilities))
Through shipyards:
Equations
Time_in_days = Length_of_ship / 500 x 30 / number_of_shipyards x (1 - (nbr Manual Resource) / (nbr facilities))
Through factories:
Equations
Time to build it (in hours) =  (Sum of all materials needed) / 12 x (1 - (nbr Manual Resource) / (nbr facilities))
For each, Time must be > 0 Price: 1 000 000 Credits
Services Providers
Male and female slaves, very useful for services like barmaid/man in taverns, dancers for Hutts, hosts in hotels, guides in museum, ... Incomes are increased by (nbr Services Providers) / (nbr facilities) such that:

Price: 1 500 000 Credits
3/ Owning a Slave
When you own slaves, they are automatically assigned to work. However, at anytime, you have the possibility to use any of the following options:
  • You may sell them to any other character at a price you determine or to a Slaves Market or Labour Camp for 50% of their value.
  • You may decide to free them. Once free, you automatically loose all productions and incomes bonuses you had.
4/ Economy
Slaves do not count in a planet's total population. Also, slave markets and labour camps have great say in the morale of a planet (taken from the Planetary Economy): Equations
Moral (M) = (1-(crimeRate x taxLevel x civilizationLevel)) x (S Facility [u] x size / (S Facility [v] x size + 2 x (S Facility [w] x size) + 4 x (S Facility [x] x size))
Where:
  • Facility [u] = Hotel, Park, Tavern, Factory, Mine, Warehouse, Landing pads, Park, Fountain, Statue, Semi Detached House, High Rise Building, Skyscraper
  • Facility [v] = House, Semi Detached House, High Rise Building, Skyscraper
  • Facility [w] = Hotel, Park, Tavern, Factory, Mine, Warehouse, Landing pads
  • Facility[x] = Slave Market, Labour Camp
  • 0 < M < 1
